What’s The Deal With Period Underwear?

Period underwear, period panties, absorbent underwear – whatever you want to call them, the idea of not having to bother with pads or tampons seemed too good to be true, so I put some of them to the test and below is a list of the best period panties your money can buy!

Bambody

You may not have heard of them before, but Bambody is a brand that you never knew you needed. Their period panties are made of bamboo fibers that are so soft and comfortable that you will want to wear them all month long. It’s like if your best friend was a pair of period underwear, her name would be Bambody. These underwear fit and feel just like regular underwear and their interior absorbent layer holds up to two tampons worth of liquid. What I really appreciate about Bambody period panties is that absorbent layer reaches from the top of the front panel right to the top of the bum. I’ve made too many embarrassing messes on the bed sheets but with these underwear, I’m completely protected and never have to worry. They come at an excellent price point and are worth every penny. Favorite for: Heavy days, bedtime and when you just want to be comfy.

Knix

One of the trailblazers in the absorbent underwear industry, Knix has a product selection that has something for everyone. Not only do their panties come in a variety of colors and patterns, but you can also buy them in a variety of styles – everything from thongs to boyshorts. These period underwear are made of silky fabric and look and feel completely like regular underwear. You could walk around the changeroom with these on and no one would no the difference. Unlike Bambody, Knix puts their absorbent layer in just the crotch area, like an extra thin, extra absorbent pad. Their Super Leakproof absorbent underwear promise to hold a whopping eight tampons worth of fluid! If you’re like me and sometimes forget to cross your legs when you sneeze, then these are great to have around. Plan on jumping on a trampoline? Put on your Knix and you’re good to go! Favorite for: Days when you are on your feet a lot, bladder leaks and when wearing a thong is necessary.

Neione

You may not have heard of them, but if you have lady parts, you need to check them out. These period panties are sold in packs of three and come in a variety of colors. They are like your comfiest pair of pjs – just in period underwear form. Similar to Bambody, Neione has an absorbent layer that covers your entire bum and goes right up to the top of the front panel. This 360 degree protection also makes them a great pair of absorbent underwear for larger bladder leaks. They hold two tampons worth of fluid and look just like regular underwear. The price point is so amazing – you really can’t go wrong with a pair of these panties. Favorite for: Heavy days, bedtime and large bladder leaks.
